Just thought I would quickly up-date the dentistry post.

I went in yesterday for the final work on what turned out to be a “3-canal” root canal, which took about 1.5 hours to complete. This was, of course, somewhat challenging. What with my mouth splayed open with a tool pressed in between the back teeth on the opposite side of my jaw from where the work was being done, and the “dental dam” spread across my mouth. Apparently I produce a large about of saliva, since the dentist reminded me several times that this was the case. I think it might have been exaggerated because she had to remove a portion of the dam to get the suction tube in.

Anyway, the whole thing ended up costing me 719.2 RMB (a little over $100) (yesterday), which included an x-ray. I don’t know how much this would have cost in the United States, but I would venture to guess a bit more than that!!! And I have absolutely no complaint about the work, service, nor cleanliness of the hospital.
